I have been wanting to go to Dubai for a while now. I have been once actually, when I transferred to Indonesia, so that one doesn’t count. I was invited by Dutch travel organization Corendon to visit this beautiful city and live like a real Sheikh for a couple of days.
Dubai is an ultra-modern metropolis with a mix of Arab culture and the Western world. Super high skyscrapers with super luxury hotels, restaurants and traditional souks. Everything in Dubai is slightly bigger, better, more beautiful, more luxurious than in the rest of the world. So obviously, the tallest building in the world – the Burj Khalifa – is situated in Dubai. This massive building is 828 meters high and houses the largest shopping mall and aquarium in the world.
The best thing about this town, that its a huge Meltingpot of cultures, nationalities, religion, buildings, old and new world. Over 80% of people are from abroad, so on the street you’ll see loads of Westerners, but also Emirati – the original people of Dubai. The city has everything to offer, everything the ‘city smart’ travelers needs for a nice trip: nice weather, beautiful beaches, culture, good food, beautiful buildings, beautiful scenery and all the good stores. Corendon offers trips with reasonable prices to this Arab mega-city, so I’ll definitely come back …
